#11327 1/6 Daguerreotype, young gold miner
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a young man with a chin beard staring intently into the camera lens. He is wearing a double-breasted coat with a watch chain(?) end out of one the buttonholes. A light reflector is seen on the left. The dag is housed in a nice full case with a cloth type of spineSixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of young gold miner. His clothes look to be fairly new and unworn like he recently purchased them for his initial trip into the mine fields to find his fortune. He is wearing a porkpie hat, goldminer type heavy shirt, a knotted kerchief/tie, heavy work trousers and suspenders. Housed in a full case with wear and an intact original spine. The clasps work fine, and the case closes fine.
CONDITION: the plate is in very good condition. There is minor mat scratching on the bottom of the mat, some to left and one longer mark at the top middle. Minor brown spotting can be seen at various places in the background. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90-Plus, archival spacer on underside of mat and archival polyester film. repair.
