#11329 1/6 Daguerreotype, handsome young man in front of a sunburst
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a handsome young man sitting in front of a wonderful sunburst and trees backdrop. He has slight tinting to his face. The dag is housed in a nice full case with a mis-matched front and back design. The fragile partly split original spine finally failed in my possession, and I have applied a leather spine repair. The clasp works fine, and the case closes fine.
CONDITION: the plate is in very good condition with some light hairline scrapes across the bottom. Very curious, they may be original to the manufacture process. The dag was re-glassed and sealed with Filmoplast P90 by a previous owner.
