#11187 1/6 Daguerreotype, darling young child by McCLEES
Outstanding sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a darling young child (probably a boy as to the side hair part). Photographer studio identified as McCLEES of Philadelphia, most likely taken in 1857 when he was listed by himself without GERMON. Wonderful curly headed child with some pudgy cheeks which were tinted along with part of sleeves. Housed in a very nice case with a leather spine repair, the case sides are mismatched but I believe them to be original to each other.
CONDITION: excellent plate with some wispy tarnish effects top and bottom. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90 and archival polyester film.
