#11226 1/6 Daguerreotype, beautiful young girl standing on a chair
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype which captured this beautiful young girl standing on a chair. They don't come any cuter than this. With the rug(?) behind her this is very possibly a hidden mother dag. Housed in a very nice BOSTON-style black push-button case.
CONDITION: the re-silvered plate is in excellent condition. (NOTE: re-silvered refers to a process done by the daguerreotypist to add an extra layer of silver to the plate before buffing and the image exposed. This is generally believed to have been done to achieve a superior plate surface.) Encroaching heavy tarnish around the perimeter of the mat. All specks are dust from the scan. Resealed by a previous owner.
