#11227 1/6 Daguerreotype, burly handsome bearded man
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") Daguerreotype of a burly handsome bearded man, possibly a hard working tradesman or business owner. The nicely tinted red shirt really provides a wonderful contrast to the darkness of his clothing. Housed in a full case with wear, it has an intact original spine. The case has a single working hook clasp.
CONDITION: The plate is in excellent (-) condition with tarnish around the mat, a few flecks and specks and a small whitish chemical spot on his coat. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90 and archival polyester film.
