#11230 1/6 Occupational Ambrotype, standing Mill owner in a light suit displaying his product

Occupational sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") ambrotype of a standing Mill owner in a light suit displaying a bag of ground buckwheat. I have reversed a scan of the bag so the print can be read. “Fredonia Mills.; 12 lbs.; extra hulled(?); Buckwheat; FLOUR, NORTON & CO. ????? N.Y.”. This is a clear glass ambrotype with a painted dag plate behind to give the contrast. Housed in a full case with a lot of wear, I have applied a leather spine repair.

CONDITION: the ambrotype is in excellent condition.
