#11235 1/6 Daguerreotype, young girl holding large porcelain-head doll
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") Daguerreotype of a young girl holding her favorite large porcelain-head doll. Some light facial tinting and her necklace is gilded. Housed in a full case with mismatched sides. The case has what I think is a very old spine repair so the case sides may not be original to each other. The case has a single working hook clasp.
CONDITION: The plate has heavy horizontal buffing lines and is in very good plus condition. There is tarnish around the mat, a few flecks and specks and a couple of small mat marks. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90 and archival polyester film.
