#11237 1/6 Daguerreotype, odd-looking hat with fold up ear flaps
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") Daguerreotype of a young gentleman with a melancholy stare, a curtain and tassel are in the background. The curtain, tassel and tablecloth have tinting. He is wearing an odd-looking hat with fold up ear flaps. He has rings on both pinkie fingers which appear to have gemstones. There is a possible gilded stick pin in his shirt. Housed in a nice full case, the spine may be original or is a very old leather repair. The case has a working hook clasp.
CONDITION: The plate is in very good plus condition. Tarnish around the mat, a few flecks and specks and a few mat marks are seen. The plate was resealed the plate with Filmoplast P90 by a previous owner.
