#11239 1/6 Daguerreotype, young gentleman with wispy hair
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") Daguerreotype of a young sensitive looking gentleman with wispy hair. Housed in a full case with wear, especially around the two working clasps. It has a leather spine repair which I applied. The plate has an interesting split hallmark of “W.H.H. 40” (Rinhart’s #49).
CONDITION: The plate is in near excellent condition; it does have a few tarnish spots and tarnish around the periphery of the mat. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90 and archival polyester film.
