#11255 1/6 Daguerreotype, very handsome man, facial hair & a large curl and a dubious note
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a very handsome man with facial hair and a large curl in his hair. Light facial tinting. There is a remarkably interesting note inside the case which reads “In all the varied fathoms of life dear friend thou art remembered. Born to suffer. “ With initials following. Housed in a very nice full case and working closures. The case has mismatched sides but an original intact spine.
CONDITION: the re-silvered plate is in excellent condition. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, archival polyester film and Filmoplast P90.
