#11268 1/4 Daguerreotype, very nice outside scene quarter plate
Very nice outside scene quarter plate (3.25" by 4.25") daguerreotype of a house with people present. There are six people showing near the intricate large white fence. Two children are poised on the wide fence posts, three men and one woman make up the rest. The house is somewhat common except there is a large extra storied structure to the right which is either attached or is a building by itself. Three tall skinny trees are in front with fancy wood protection devices around them. Housed in an excellent full case with an original spine. The case closes tightly with two hook closures.
CONDITION: The plate is in very good condition with some perimeter tarnish, mat abrasions showing mostly on the left and miscellaneous inconsequential spotting. The plate was resealed with Filmoplast P90 by a previous owner.
