#11283 1/6 Daguerreotype, two very pretty young ladies
Sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of two very pretty young ladies. Both have pin-pricked gilded neck jewelry along with gilded earrings and gilded rings. Both are holding mother-of-pearl daguerreotype cases. Light facial tinting, tinting to the ladies’ neck pieces and the wrist bands of the lady on the right. Both cases have some tinting. Housed in a very nice full case with very slight wear and one missing eye-hook. I have applied a leather spine repair.
CONDITION: the plate is in very good condition, there is some slight tarnish, periphery spots and an odd light stain in the backdrop between their heads. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90 and archival polyester film.
