#11342 Oval Daguerreotype of a semi-smiling handsome gent with a high collar
Oval (1.25" by 2.25") daguerreotype of a semi-smiling handsome gent with a high collar. He is sitting sideways in a chair with his arm slung over the back. Paper note has initials WGV(?) and the date of Apr 1852. Tarnish as seen, most of the flecks and specks are imperfections in the old convex glass. The short straight line on the bottom right is on the plate. I cleaned the old convex glass and sealed the re-silvered plate with Filmoplast P90. Housed in a full worn velvet case which closes fine, and the push-button clasp works fine.
