#11351 1/6 Daguerreotype, plantation taskmaster or other type of work foreman
Exceptional sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a plantation taskmaster or other type of work foreman, smoking a cigar and sporting a beard. Wears a large straw hat, white shirt, and rough coat with large buttons. His intense staring eyes could pierce a hole through steel. He makes me think of a hard working taskmaster/foreman. Housed in a full case with wear and an 60% intact original spine. The clasp works fine, and the case closes fine. The plate is in excellent condition. I have resealed the plate with a new glass, Filmoplast P90-Plus, archival spacer underside of mat and archival polyester film.
