#11196 1/6 Daguerreotype, two sisters dressed alike holding their similar dolls
Great sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of two sisters dressed alike holding their favorite but similar dolls. Housed in a nice full case with an original spine intact.
CONDITION: the re-silvered dag is in excellent condition. Re-sealed with Filmoplast P-90 by a previous owner.
(NOTE: re-silvered refers to a process some daguerreotypists did to add an extra layer of silver to the plate before buffing and exposing the image. This is generally believed to have been done to achieve a superior plate surface, hence a better quality daguerreotype.
