Pristine sixth-plate size Mother-of-Pearl/Abalone Shell book-style case. Very rare to find one in this condition other than in a museum or high-end private collection. I can detect no damage to the shell parts or any other part of the case. The case holds a sixth plate daguerreotype of a very handsome young gentleman; his vest has curious diamond shaped buttons. The re-silvered dag is in excellent condition save for some minor mat marks on the right.
