#3432 1/6 Daguerreotype, sailor or highwayman brandishing two boot pistols
Very interesting sixth plate (2.75" by 3.25") daguerreotype of a possible sailor or highwayman brandishing two boot pistols. He has a look about him that indicates he will use those pistols if someone makes the wrong move. The image has some spotting and wipes that run both horizontal and vertical. I have shown two different scans which displays them. Of course the scanner somewhat over emphasizes the effects of the wipes. Be that as it may it is a very unusual and rare image. Housed in a full case with some wear. The case has a mismatched front and back but has an intact original spine.
CONDITION: the plate is described above. I removed a partial original seal and resealed the image with a new glass, Filmoplast P90 and archival polyester film.
